Two thirds of all maternal deaths are the result of indirect causes such as heart disease and neurological conditions; there has been no significant decrease in the number of indirect maternal deaths over the last ten years.
The day will focus on a wide range of medical complications which can affect pregnant women and aims to help physicians and GPs of all grades develop their familiarly with these problems. The meeting will consist of a series of sessions incorporating case presentations, lectures and panel discussions.
