As a member of BMFMS you have provided personal information which we retain and use, having regard to relevant data protection legislation. The information we collect may include your contact details such as postal and email address. The information you provided during your membership application will be updated over time, so that we have up to date information about your grade, post and current contact details. You can check and amend your membership information by accessing your profile via the members’ area of the website.

We use the information you provide to us in a number of ways - specifically BMFMS will:

  • Send you updates, notifications of BMFMS event and occasional newsletters.
  • Invite you to participate in elections for roles in BMFMS or to participate in a very limited number of surveys which BMFMS believe have merit although the majority of surveys will be shared via the website.
  • Share your surname with the conference organisers for the purpose of you having a membership discount.

BMFMS will not sell your details to any third parties or share your details with any unrelated third parties without your consent, unless we are legally obliged to do so. Nor do we sell any information about your web browsing activity.

You have the right to request a copy of any information we hold about you and to have that information amended, updated or removed if it is incorrect.
