Obstetricians would you like to help shape future research in Twin Pregnancy?

29 April 2021

We need your expert opinion in the development of a Core Outcome Set for Twin Pregnancy. Core Outcome Sets are a set of agreed outcomes that have been clearly defined, are measured in a standardised manner and will be reported consistently as a minimum in all research trials in a specific condition i.e. twin pregnancy. We are now in the final stage of the research whereby we need experts to help decide which twin pregnancy outcomes are ‘important and which outcomes are ‘not important’ via an online Delphi Survey.

It is important that stakeholders complete the survey e.g. parents with a lived experience of twin pregnancy, maternity employee’s and neonatal employee’s, as some outcomes will be more important parents and some outcome will be more important to maternity employee’s or neonatal employee’s, so we want to make sure the final list is inclusive and has outcomes important to all.

All you need to do is complete three online surveys over a 2-3 month period. During each survey you will be asked to rate a number of different outcomes related to twin pregnancy, as ‘important’ or ‘not important’. Those that are deemed not important will be removed from the COS and those that are deemed important will form the COS and be reported on in all future studies in twin pregnancy.

You can register for the survey via this link https://delphimanager.liv.ac.uk/COSTWIN/ or email Nicola.farmer1@nhs.net for more information.
