DESCRIPTION:This conference focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to improving safety in maternity services – learning\, and implementing recommendations from the Ockenden Review and Final Report 2022.\nThis conference will enable you to:\n• Network with colleagues who are working to improve safety in maternity services\n• Learn from outstanding practice in improving active engagement with the local community and those with lived experience\n• Reflect on national developments and learning and how you can accelerate improvements in your maternity service\n• Self assess your service against the Local Actions for Learning\, (LAfL) and Immediate and Essential Actions from the Ockenden Report\n• Understand the role of the CQC in Getting safer faster’: a programme of risk-based\, focused maternity safety inspections involving a more focused in-depth assessment of relational elements such as teamworking and culture\, staff and patient experience\n• Ensure assurance and accountability for implementing the recommendations and learning from Ockenden\n• Improving Maternity Care & Safety for Women from Black and Minority Ethnic Groups\n• Understand the role and ensure effective engagements with Maternity Voice Partnerships\n• Improve the way you embed the role of the MVP in services\n• Reflect on training and education in maternity services and how this can be supported and improved\n• Understand how you can nurture a positive culture and freedom to speak up in maternity care\n• Identify key strategies for improving leadership\, teamwork and culture in maternity services\n• Learn from the Ockenden Report and implement recommendations regarding stillbirth\n• Improve investigation and learning from adverse outcomes\n• Self assess and reflect on your own practice\n• Supports CPD professional development and acts as revalidation evidence. This course provides 5 Hrs training for CPD subject to peer group approval for revalidation purposes\n\n
