The Maternal and Newborn Review Panel into the future of the Maternal Confidential Enquiry is now available on the NPSA website.

The BMFMS provided input into teh review process and were thanked for their contributions.
The panel has set out a series of key priniciples including the need for the confidential enquiries to work within a robust context of audit and quality assurance, utilising rigorous methodological approaches to ensure credibility of results and conclusions.
The aim is for the commissioning body HQIP to proceed to appoint a new service provider as soon as is practical but in any event before 01 April 2012.
