BMFMS 2016

The Birmingham ICC provided the venue for the 2016, 18th Annual Conference. This year we had 452 delegates and feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Key note speakers included Professor Peter Brocklehurst on the INFANT trial and Dr Andrew Kelso talking on Epilepsy: a time to act.

The Clinical Conundrum sessions were once again very well received and covered diverse subjects such as A primigravid with a history of LLETZ: should we screen for pre-term labour? (Professor Andrew Shennan) Sub-clinical hypothyroidism-to treat or not to treat? (Cathy Nelson-Piercy) and management of the non-diabetic big baby at term (Professor Derek Tufnell).

The BMFMS society lecture was given by David Richmond the President of the RCOG who talked about the current political climate with the proposed changes to the junior doctor contract and the NHS. This was a brilliant session on which to close the conference.

We are looking forward to seeing members at the 2017 conference which will be held in Amsterdam 29th March to 31st March 2017.

Conference presentations are available in the members area of the web-site.
